Fagus sylvatica atropurpurea makes for a great hedging plant or stand alone tree, native to the UK. The Purple Beech sports deep maroon-purple foliage during spring and summer, before the colours of autumn emerge as coppery orange and brown tones. Fagus can be semi-evergreen hedge plants as, when lightly pruned in August, the leaves may well hold on the branches for the majority of the winter. Supplied in approx. 6-7 litre containers.
